Samsung's Brightest, Most Colorful Smartphone OLED
Samsung Display debuted Flex Chroma Pixel — a smartphone OLED reaching 3,000 nits in High Brightness Mode and covering 96% of the BT.2020 color space, compared to 70% on most current displays.
The panel uses phosphorescent sensitized fluorescence and Samsung’s LEAD technology to achieve high brightness and color accuracy without reducing lifespan.
A Phone Screen That Monitors Your Health
Samsung also revealed its Sensor OLED Display — a 6.8-inch panel measuring heart rate and blood pressure through embedded organic photodiodes. This is one of the standout Samsung OLED display 2026 announcements at the event.
The panel reaches 500 PPI — up 33% from last year’s 374 PPI. It includes Flex Magic Pixel privacy technology, hiding sensitive health data from side angles while keeping the rest of the screen visible.
Android Authority reports that neither technology has a confirmed ship date, but both point clearly to where Samsung’s flagship displays are headed.
EL-QD and Stretchable Display 2.0
Samsung’s EL-QD quantum dot display reached 500 nits — a 25% improvement — earning a SID Distinguished Paper recognition.
Its Stretchable Display 2.0 for automotive dashboards achieved 200 PPI — 67% higher than last year — matching resolution levels in current production vehicles.
These technologies are expected to appear in future devices, building on Samsung’s recent innovations seen in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
LG's Third-Generation Tandem OLED
LG Display revealed its third-generation Tandem OLED — delivering 18% lower power consumption and more than twice the lifespan of the previous generation.
The automotive version reaches 1,200 nits and maintains performance for over 15,000 hours. Mass production is planned within 2026.
LG's Gaming, Monitor, and TV Panels
LG showcased a 27-inch OLED with 720Hz refresh rate — awarded Display of the Year by SID — and the world’s first 39-inch 5K2K curved OLED panel.
Its 27-inch 5K desktop panel reaches 220 PPI using a new RGB stripe structure. On the TV side, Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 hits 4,500 nits with 0.3% reflectance — lowest of any existing display.
LG in Robotics and Automotive
LG debuted P-OLED for humanoid robots, built for demanding environments and multiple form factors.
For automotive, it showcased a concept car with a 57-inch panel spanning driver to passenger seat and a 32-inch Slidable OLED that retracts into the ceiling when not in use.
